A guide to resources for parent and families in Montezuma and Dolores counties.
Work with youth who have mild disabilities enables them to become competitively employed and more successful in the community as they transition from school to adult life. The program serves young adults ages 16-25 who must also be eligible for services through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and who have a documented mild or moderate disability. Names of applicants go on a waiting list.
Full Case Management
Career Development: Career awareness groups, career exploration, preparation and short-term training, and more
Employment-Related Instruction: Interviewing, resume writing, connecting with and using adult agencies, social skills for the workplace, and conflict resolution skills
Job Development: Placement and short-term job coaching
Post-Employment Follow-Up & Support: for a minimum of one yera

Lower-cost food for families in Dolores and Montezuma counties is offered. Classic food package is $30, produce pack is $20. Flyers stating what is in each food box, as well as monthly specials can be picked up at the following agencies: Pinon Project (in Family Support Services category), Montezuma County Social Services (in Social Services category), Montezuma County Senior’s Center (in Senior Services category), Housing Authority of Montezuma County (in Housing & Homeless Services category), Salvation Army (in Family Support Services category), and Cortez Library (in Libraries category).

Believe that dreams can come true. Help is offered for dreamers in southwest Colorado who want more in some area of their lives than they can presently have: academic preparation, social interaction, job readiness, or vocational referral. Work with adults on an individualized or small group basis. Registration fees vary depending on needs.
