It’s in the Bag Backpack Drive is revving up for a new season. The Montelores Early Childhood, Cortez Retail Enhancement Assoc., Marketing and Events of the City of Cortez, and the Cortez Public Library are partnering to bring kids a backpack of school supplies, books and socks. We would also like to offer back-to-school haircuts.

We are in need of monetary donations, socks, and hair stylists who like to donate their time for a good cause. We will be posting drop off locations and wish lists soon!

The backpack giveaway is slated for Thursday, August 16, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the 3rd Thursday Market in Montezuma Park on the corner of Montezuma and Market streets.

Discover Health / Descubre la Salud is a FREE interactive bilingual exhibition that makes learning about health science topics fun for all ages, April 7-July 2  at Cortez Public Library. This series of events includes story times, nutritional health workshops, health screenings, and more.

Southwest Health System & the Montelores Early Childhood Council have combined super forces for the 2018 Community 9 Health Fair in Cortez!

Children’s Festival & 9Health Fair:

April 14th, 8am-2pm

Montezuma Cortez High School

The super fair is open to kids & adults! Come enjoy health screenings at low prices for adults and FREE CHILDREN’S SCREENINGS including Dental, Hearing, Development and more!

The Raising Readers Storytime program is held every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cortez Public Library, located at 202 N. Park St., Cortez, CO.

Older children are welcome to join us for a craft at 11:15 a.m.
