Community Profile

Our First Stop – Gathering Data

With the Early Childhood Colorado Framework as our guide, we began by gathering information about MECC’s service area, using data provided by members and partners, as well as other sources.

This process helped us develop our community profile, an important factor in determining gaps in our system. We gathered data in the following areas as required by the CDE. Clicking on each heading will take you to a pop-up window with the data points that we used to develop our plan.

Demographic Data

Includes statistics about single parenthood, prenatal health, nutrition, and WIC.

Geographic Data

Includes statistics about the geography of our service area, and how this impacts access to services.

Economic Data

Includes statistics about poverty and unemployment.

Education Data

Includes statistics about opportunities for higher education, kindergarten attendance and graduation rates in our local schools, and kindergarten readiness.

ECE Availability and Quality Data

Includes statistics about numbers of slots in licensed centers and homes, and quality ratings.

ECE Provider Data

Includes statistics about the professional qualifications of providers, retention, and participation in professional development activities.
