This program offers assistance for families in Dolores and Montezuma counties who have developmental concerns regarding their children ages 0-3. Coordination of resources is provided for developmental screening and assessment, supports and information, and early intervention services. All children are eligible for free developmental screening. Home visits and regularly scheduled community screenings are available. Early intervention services, for children deemed eligible through the intake and assessment process, are provided at no cost to families.

Public, non-profit, charter school provides an alternative high school environment for students who feel they do not fit well in a traditional school environment to complete a high school education. Small group academics and elective classes are offered with self-paced, community-based, experiential education program. Students in ninth-twelfth grades living in Montezuma and Dolores counties can apply by calling the office. School is free.

Quality athletic training and competition is provided in a variety of year-round sports for individuals with both mental and physical disabilities in southwest Colorado. Program is free to athletes who have a mental disability, or a physical disability with mental disability, and a maximum IQ of 80-90. Children in need of out-of-home placement in their own community are maintained. Essential therapy provided for growth and development within the context of a structured home-like setting. Families strengthened and reunified when possible. The Four Corners are, the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, and national youth are served. Referrals are made to Social Services for placement if appropriate and family cannot be contacted. Runaway and homeless programs are free. Group home rate is $79, paid by the referring agency or family if private placement.
Group Home: Services are offered for youth 5-17 years of age (some exceptions) and 18-21 years of age. The home works closely with parents of youth in conflict, and also with the court systems when youth are awaiting a bed in a treatment facility. Length of stay depends on each child’s situation, but a stay of ninety days or less is attempted. The ultimate goal in each case is to return the child or youth to her or his own home.
The Runaway or Homeless Program: Serves youth 5-17 years of age, and youth may stay for up to two weeks at no charge. Youth can self refer if homeless or a throw-away. If youth is a runaway, they must be a runway for 24 hours. This is a nation-wide program in which all ethnicities and nationalities are accepted. Every attempt is made to reunite such youth with their families if that is appropriate or possible.
Cultural & Recreational Activities: On and off-site activities provided daily
Counseling: Work with individual children and youth and their families with the goal of reunification. Referrals to alcohol and substance abuse prevention programs, medical and dental services, and Ancell Casey Life Skills are also offered.
School: Education department teacher for K-12, GED program, and close partnership with Job Corp Recruitment to place youth in a program if they meet criteria
