No Image AvailablePromotion of a socially and economically balanced community is sought through provision of assistance and services to very-low to moderate income families, individuals, elderly, disabled, and special needs populations in areas including, but not limited to, housing and energy in Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan counties. Applications are available for all programs in the office or by mail.
Homeowner Rehabilitation Program: Housing rehabilitation for low to moderate income owner occupants in the five county region, funded through the Colorado Division of Housing, Community Development Block Grant.
Weatherization Program: Provides energy conservation measures for low income owners and renters in the five county region. There is no cost to recipients. The services provided may include insulation, furnace checks, appliance replacement, and energy audits.
Rental Assistance: Provides qualified families with the opportunity to live in safe, decent and sanitary rental housing in Archuleta, La Plata and San Juan counties through the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Choice Voucher program. The program is designed for families to pay 30% of their income towards rent and utilities.
Transitional Housing: Homeward Bound facility provides housing for homeless families with children
Scattered Site Self-Sufficiency: Provides subsidies for homeless families with children so the family can enter into a lease with a landlord
Emergency Homeless Prevention Program: Provides emergency housing funds for low-income families in the five county region facing homelessness due to a temporary interruption in income. These funds are available for rental, mortgage, and utility payments.
