Even Start aims to break the cycle of limited literacy in Montezuma County by having parents and children learn simultaneously. This program’s purpose is to extend learning and enrich language development in youth five years old and younger. The program is designed to raise the education levels of both adults and children. Parents can obtain their GED or participate in ESL (English as a Second Language) and other educational classes while their infant, toddler, or preschooler participates in early literacy development and school readiness activities. PACT (Parent and Child Together) time in interactive time for parents and children. Services are available to parents with an educational goal and at least one child under age 7.
