A guide to resources for parent and families in Montezuma and Dolores counties.
Provides support for those experiencing distressing emotions such as intense anxiety, depression, or thoughts of suicide. Conversations are confidential, and trained therapists are available.
Non-profit organization operates with mission to promote the well-being of abused children. The goal is to minimize the emotional trauma to children and their non-offending family members. Facility and staff offer a safe, nurturing and child-friendly atmosphere. The Center is where agencies, professionals and therapists will come to the child for investigative interviews, medical exams, court education, and therapy. The Center refers clients to eligible victim services and advocates for services that are lacking or inadequate. The Center is one of only then in the state and is a member of the National Network of Child Advocacy Centers. The Center is unique in that it serves victims in four states and jurisdictions. Services are free.

Behavioral health programs and services are provided to make a meaningful difference by delivering the highest quality mental health service to the communities of Montezuma and Dolores counties in the most appropriate, affordable, educational, and accessible manner. Most insurance is accepted; sliding scale is based on income and number of family members; and there is no fee for persons enrolled with Medicaid.
Adult Out-Patient Therapy: Individual and group mental health and substance abuse treatment
Child and Adolescent Out-Patient Therapy: Individual, family, and group therapy for children ages 0-18 and their families
Cortez Kiva Empowerment Center: A support and activity center for consumers
Crisis Services: No cost walk-in crisis intervention from 8-5 Monday through hFriday, no-cost telephone crisis intervention after-hours
Family Issues Cash Fund: A free counseling service for families with children under the age of 18. Services are offered in the school, home, or office
Vocational Rehabilitation: Help for individuals with mental illness to prepare for and maintain employment. Collaboration with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (please see listing in Employment & Training Services category) for additional services
Psychiatric Services: Diagnostic treatment planning, medication management, and follow-up planning
