Research-based information provided to area residents in the areas of agriculture, family and consumer science, and 4H/youth development. Programs are available to all without discrimination. Most publications and programs are free of charge; however, there are a limited number that require cost recovery. There is an enrollment fee for youth to join the 4H program.

Training and technical assistance are provided by regional prevention consultant to agencies working towards substance abuse prevention in Archuleta, Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, La Plata, Montezuma, Montrose, Ouray, San Juan and San Miguel counties.

The southwest campus of Pueblo Community College serves Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan counties providing individuals with the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge necessary for personal development, job preparation, and a solid general education. Accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association. Open door admission policy with an approved assessment test recommended. Tuition is per credit hour ($92.05) – most courses are 3 credit hours – and registration fee ($11.05) occurs each semester. Additional costs include books and lab fees. Financial aid is available.

Vocational and technical education at the high school, post-secondary, and adult educational levels are offered to residents of Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Miguel counties. Programs are available to anyone 16 and older. Applications are available at the admissions office. Contact admissions for current costs, which include tuition, books, tools, etc. depending on the program. Financial aid is available.

Help is offered for dreamers in southwest Colorado who want more in some area of their lives than they can presently have: academic preparation, social interaction, job readiness, or vocational referral. Work with adults on an individualized or small group basis. Registration fees vary depending on needs.

Itinerant shared Special Education and related services provided in Mancos, Dolores, Dolores County, and Cortez school districts. The provision of Special Education in all schools in the four districts is overseen. Responsibility held for Child Find services for children 0-21. Children 3-21 served directly.
