Little and long legs alike enjoyed the hiking adventure at Hawkins, led by Gabi Morey. They saw bugs, cacti, trail markers, and enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.

On April 11, 2015, the Four Seasons Greenhouse and Nursery and Montelores Early Childhood Council hosted a fun day for parents and children learning. Everyone learned about how to plant veggies, how they grow, and then planted some to take home! Thanks, Four Seasons!

During April, the Month of the Young Child, MECC sponsored a screening of Are We Crazy About Our Kids, an episode of the PBS series Raising of America. It was held at the Sunflower Theater on Main Street, with about 65 community members in attendance. After the screening a community discussion was led by a panel of community leaders: Allison Duran, Bobbi Lock, Della Pope, Tanya Amrine, Vangi McCoy, and Rachel Heberle. As you can see from the photos, the refreshments were excellent. Another episode will be screened in the near future – keep an eye out for the announcement and please attend.
