Climbing Mount Healthmore

Climbing Mount HealthmoreLearn about Health, Nutrition, and even some basic survival skills as Rocky Mountain Puppets ascends to the top of Mount Healthmore in this year’s program, “Climbing Mount Healthmore.”  Aidan and friends have the ultimate goal of making it to the top; however, they will need to make the right decisions along the way.  On your mark, get set, GO!  Peak Health is just ahead!

This great show takes place on Tuesday, Jul. 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cortez Public Library.

The library is located at 202 N. Park St., Cortez, CO and may be reached by calling 970-565-8117.  This performance is brought to you at no charge by Golden Dreams from Onward! A Legacy Foundation.

Little Legs Adventures

Little Legs Adventures Program: Fridays through June

Bring your ‘little legs’ (toddlers and preschoolers) to one, or all, of these adventures tailored to little people enjoying the outdoors. The program takes place at Denny Lake in Cortez the following Fridays from 10 – 11am:  June 10, 17, 24 and July 1.

Kids will learn about local critters, explore the natural world, read related books and have fun with friends each week.

This program is free and is sponsored by San Juan Mountains Association, San Juan National Forest and BLM Tres Rios Field Office. Pre-registration is encouraged. Contact SJMA for more information at gabi@sjma.org or 759-1170.

Celebrate summer, nature, outdoors, and messiness, and enjoy an evening of free food, fun, and mud with your family!

Be sure to wear clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and please let us know you’ll be coming so we can have enough food and supplies for everyone.

Young Artist’s Art Show

Calling all young artists!

All young artists (under age 8) are invited to participate in the eighth annual Young Artist’s Art Show during April to celebrate the Month of the Young Child.

• Children’s literature will be the theme again this year (there are SO many good books!!) and participants are asked to use a favorite children’s book as the springboard for creativity.

• You may want your budding artist to try using the techniques of their favorite illustrator, or recreate a scene or character from the book.

• Use your imagination and have fun!!
