•Many ECE providers did not have credentials.
•Barriers to achieving credentials through the community college included transportation and child care.
•Only about 1/3rd of ECE teachers and providers participated in the variety of professional development activities designed to improve the quality of care provided to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
•Directors reported high turn-over rate among providers, and difficulties recruiting new staff.
•Directors cited lack of ECE substitutes as a barrier to sending ECE providers to professional development trainings.
